Name of the Department : Education
The education Department as a subject was introduced in 1988 since the first inception of the college in T.D.C level. The founder teacher of the department was Sri Ananda Borah, Sri Tarun Das and Miss Rupali Bora. After that Md Mozibur Rahman , Miss Dipika Boruah, Miss Junti Das had joined in the department on 14th May 1999, 3 september, 2003, 2nd November, 2010 respectively as faculty members of the department . Md Mozibur Rahman is the H.O.D of the department . He took over the charge as a H.O.D of the department on 1st August 2014.

Aims and Objectives of Education Department
- The main aims and objectives of the department is to makes students interested for higher studies. Moreover the department has been trying its best to attract the students to the occupation in teaching line and to be a skill teacher.
- To gather knowledge about the concept, aims and principles of education.
- To promote employment opportunities among the students.
- All faculty members always try to create an environment of friend, Philosopher and guide between teachers and students of the College.
- To develop reading habit among faculty members and students it has been made mandatory to visit library regularly.
- To organized lectures, Seminars, Group Discussion etc. on various topics relates with concerned department in the college as well as departmental level.
Semester wise Action Plan for Teaching
- Admission Policy
The admission process has been undertaken by the admission committee constituted as per guideline of the college authority.
- Action Plan
The department takes a lot of measure to increase the enrollment and makes students result better.
- Counselling : Counselling is considered to be key aspect of department for smooth running of the teaching learning process . In the very beginning of the new session induction programme has been undertaken by all department of the college . The Purpose of Student Induction Programme is to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members. Remedial Classes has been initiated for the slow learners selecting on the basis of their performance in the internal assessment.
- Financial and psychological support have been provided to the needy students.
- Class Allotment : Every year a departmental meeting has been organized by the department of education. In this meeting the course has been distributed equally among the faculty members paperwise. It is also mention that in every academic session the topic of the paper of faculty members has to be changed. The HOD presides over the departmental annual meeting.
- Various departmental seminars and group discussion , assignment and project work have been practiced by the department for all round enrichment of the students.
- Detection of slow Learners and steps taken for them
- Admission of student is done in the college based on the academic performance of other previous examination.
- Slow learners are identified on the basis of classroom interaction, assignments and the performance of the sessional exam.
Steps Taken
To improve the quality of slow learners we arranged some remedial measures . Such as –
- Remedial classes are arranged for the slow learners.
- They are providing study materials by the faculty.
- To help slow learners, take a variety of approaches to teaching important subject matter.
- Get support for the students inside and outside the classroom.
- Most importantly, encourage slow learners by working with them patiently and by celebrating their successes.

Feedbacks are collected from our passed out students. Format for feedback are compiled with the issues of teachers punctuality, communication skill, friendly behavior using TLM in classroom etc. On the basis of the students feedback the department of education has been trying to improve their demanded.

Teacher exchange Programme : Teacher exchange programme serve as a means for expanding and enriching and educators pedagogic expertise. It makes a teacher more employable . Teacher exchange programme makes a teacher more globally aware . Keeping on mind it the department of Education Hatichong college has decided to introduce this programme with the different college.
